Analysis: Preliminary test analysis shows that blood pressure and the conditions of hypertension or hypotension can be determined. It is also possible to determine the persons at rest / sleep values. The analysis reveals that the Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP), Diastolic Blood Pressure values of the 3 methods used are within 5% of each other. This evidence suggests that HAST is offering a more effective method of measuring Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP), Diastolic Blood Pressure than MAP Blood Pressure machines. Other research groups within the HAST database such as Male and Female Parkinsons were tested for Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP), Diastolic Blood Pressure. The results revealed that out of 16 people (5 male) and (11 female) that 96% had hypotension. According to the Parkinson’s.org[1] website, hypotension (low blood pressure) is caused through L-dopa medication. This is further evidence of HAST software being more accurate than MAP blood pressure machines.
Is HAST more accurate? Results indicate thathandwriting is more accurate than MAP blood pressure machines for the following 4 reasons. 1) When giving a sample of handwriting they are not suffering from white coat hypertension, white coat effect, and masked hypertension. 2) Through concentrating on their handwriting, it is impossible for the person to ‘think’ of anything else but what they are writing. This means HAST software can calculate blood pressure without the person being aware and bypasses clinical conditions of white coat syndrome previously mentioned. 3) The writing arm is at the same height / level as the person’s heart. 4) HAST can be done in the reception, triage, or in any room with a desk.
